Founded in 1872, the Geneva Cricket Club is the oldest cricket club in Switzerland. With forty or so new and experienced players, Geneva CC prides itself on waving the Geneva flag across the country. Its former president, the late Dr David Barmes, played a central role in the development of Helvetian cricket by creating the Swiss Cricket Association in 1980, rebranded Cricket Switzerland in 2014. The club is open to all people from 16 to 99 years old and plays at the Bout-du-Monde sports centre.
The Geneva Region Youth Cricket Club (GRYCC) is a club for young players aged 5 to 19, run 100% by committed volunteers. Since 2004, GRYCC has grown from a small group of hardcore cricket fans to a fully functional club composed of several teams, ranging from under 9 years of age to a team of juniors competing in the adult leagues. GRYCC’s training sessions take place at the Grande-Boissière campus of the International School of Geneva. Come and join Switzerland’s coolest youth club!
The name of the fourth oldest cricket club in Switzerland (est. 1982) may well bring together many members of the local Sri Lankan community, but it also welcomes people from all walks of life and can boast of being one of Switzerland’s most social clubs. The Geneva Sri Lanka Cricket Club (GESLCC) also plays competitively and in the purest spirit of cricket sportsmanship. The many activities organised by GESLCC make this club a place of family gatherings and revelry. The club is open to all people from 16 to 99 years old and plays at the Bout-du-Monde sports centre.
