From 2015 to 2017, the Geneva T20 Cup was organised each year by different actors in the region. The idea of setting up this tournament came from Mr Saleem Awan, a cricket enthusiast living in Geneva and an influential member of the Lancy-based club playing at les Evaux, the Geneva XI Stars. Successful and very competitive, the first edition in 2015 paved the way for future competitions. The Geneva XI Stars was the first team to lift the trophy by beating Geneva CC by 16 runs.

In 2016, the second edition took place, but it was not achieved. The organisers did not organise a final, therefore no team was crowned.

Although rather informal, the third edition in 2017 was played between three teams and worked well. For the first time, the results were published on the CricHQ platform. Although having lost the first match, Geneva CC won the tournament with flying colours by rather easily defeating the Geneva Sri Lanka CC in the final.
